As a practicing Muslim woman living in Abuja, the founder experienced a world of traditions: how women dressed, carried themselves and expressed their identity. Marrying into Northern culture deepened this experience, exposing her to customs that were rich, layered and different from her own.
She wanted to honor those traditions while preserving the essence of who she was, blending modesty with elegance in a way that felt authentic. What began with making her own head coverings grew into turbans, kimonos, kaftans and pieces women began asking for by name.
Seven years later, MAYYISAH is more than turbans. It is a celebration of timeless sophistication, handcrafted detail and the quiet confidence of women who dress with intention.
